A romantic wedding in North Holland at Robachers Watermolen
Sometimes, many of the weddings we photograph are all in a similar area, but this year, every wedding was completely different. This wedding took us to Nieuw-Vennep in beautiful North Holland. The groom arrived to pick up his bride from her family home in a beautiful little wedding car.
The bride and groom had opted for a ‘first look’. Instead of traditionally greeting each other at the door, the bride and groom waited with their backs to each other outside in the garden until they both turned around at the same time. It was a wonderful and emotional moment.
After the first look we drove to two different locations to take photos. The first location was Toolenburg, a recreational lake that had an extra special significance, because it was here that Arjan had proposed.
Arjan dazzled in a cool steel blue suit, while Mirthe looked stunningly beautiful in a gorgeous lace dress. The sun came through every now and then and even the wind did it’s part to blow beautifully through the Mirthe’s lace cathedral veil.
The ceremony took place outside at the rustic Landgoed Robacher’s Watermolen. This great venue was about halfway between Amsterdam and Friesland, where the groom is originally from. Surrounded by greenery and the warm sunshine, the ceremony was really like a fairy tale. The ceremony was followed by lots of hugs and special moments with family and friends and a delicious barbecue.
After a delicious meal everyone joined the bride and groom for a beautiful church service with an encouraging sermon and beautiful music provided by Delise.
What a great day we had, and what an honour to be part of this special day!
